High Five For Friday

It's Friday! I haven't done a High Five For Friday post in a really long time! I'm trying to get back to blogging regularly, so I thought jumping back into H54F would be a great way to do that.

Here are some of my favorite moments from the week:

1. I'm out of town for a few days and am missing my babies. I'm so glad I obsessively take pictures of them. Helena has recently discovered the tall trash can and has been knocking it over. Cosima is just as fluffy and cute as always.

2. I have recently discovered Carrie Underwood's fitness apparel line. Not only are her clothes super cute, but the way she is marketing the line is fabulous! She is promoting motivation, inspiration, and empowerment! I love it! Check our CALIA by Carrie Underwood on Instagram. You'll love it!

3. I flew to Texas for a tradeshow and on the airplane I got free wifi with entertainment. We got to watch movies for free! I slept for the first part of the flight and started a movie when I woke up. I started watching Goosebumps and had to turn it off right when it was starting to get good. Hopefully my flight out of Texas will be the same so I can finish the movie.

4. When I got to Texas and arrived at my hotel to check in everyone there was greeted by a very tall cowboy. His name is Tall Paul!

5. Our hotel is pretty cool! They have this whole Alice in Wonderland thing going on. It's their summer theme. There are AIW things all over the hotel. I haven't had a chance to take too many pictures, but here are some giant playing cards.

I hope you all had a fabulous week.  What did you get into? Anything awesome and exciting? I hope you tell me all about it below!

I'm linking up with Bright on a Budget, Della Devoted, and Cup of Tea for High Five For Friday.

Queen of Swords

I am a HUGE fan of Idina Menzel.  I follow her on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.  She posted on Friday that her NEW SINGLE is out!!!!  I love it so much. Her new album, titled idina., is coming out September 23rd! I wanted you to see the video. It's so beautiful, just like her! Her talent amazes me every time I listen to her sing. The song is fantastic!  Enjoy!!!!

You mistake mypassion for anger
Should I sit polite in the silence
So quick in pointing the finger
I got sick of taking the blame

If there’s a price to pay for your acceptance
A sacrifice for your judgment
I guess I have to learn a lesson
Now I’m not afraid to say

I can be likea raging storm
Don’t got asking me for apologies
I’ll sing ’till you hear my song
This time you better believe that there’s
No way I’m holding back anymore

I’m slaying like the queen of swords
La la ly la la ly la la ly la la ly ly (3x)
I’m slaying like the queen of swords
La la ly la la ly la la ly la la ly ly (3x)
I’m slaying like the queen of swords

I can be delicate as a flower
Or a warrior on a throne
There’s life for us to devour
Even if we do it alone

When I look into the future
I see my story my in the cards
Some days just hard and the truth hurts
But I never trade my broken heart

I can be like a raging storm
Don’t got asking me for apologies
I’ll sing ’till you hear my song
This time you better believe that there’s
No way I’m holding back anymore

I’m slaying like the queen of swords
La la ly la la ly la la ly la la ly ly (3x)
I’m slaying like the queen of swords
La la ly la la ly la la ly la la ly ly (3x)
I’m slaying like the queen of swords

I can be like a raging storm
(Don’t got asking me for apologies)
I’ll sing ’till you hear my song
(This time you better believe that there’s)
No way I’m holding back anymore

I’m slaying like the queen of swords
La la ly la la ly la la ly la la ly ly (3x)
I’m slaying like the queen of swords
La la ly la la ly la la ly la la ly ly (3x)
I’m slaying like the queen of swords

Red's Book Club

I've been in several book clubs over the years. Whether it's been a group of strangers that have become friends, an online community, or friends that want to read what Reese Witherspoon is reading (you can check out #RWbookclub here...there are some great books they are reading).

I have gone through all of my books and guess how many I own that I have not read yet!  96!!! I have 96 books on my bookshelf that are unread! Goodness gracious me that's a lot of books. If you look at it in dollars, it's somewhere around $1,000, if not more, sitting on my bookshelf. I'm a traditional girl and like holding a book in my hands. I'm starting to enjoy my Amazon Kindle app on my phone, but I'm pretty much a paperback kinda girl.

With that said, I have decided to start my own book club. I have enough books to last at least two years (that's three books a month).  I typed up all of my unread book titles and then cut them up into little slivers of paper and put them into a jar. I am keeping the little jar on my bookshelf.

When I'm ready to read a new book I will randomly pull a piece of paper from the jar. I probably saw this on pinterest some where.

I finished Supernova, Book 1 in the Heroes of Arcania trilogy (by Liz C. Long...check her out for sure). I pulled a sliver of paper out of the jar and the first book in Red's Book Club is What Would Audrey Do, by Pamela Keogh. You can follow along with what I'm reading on Instagram using the hashtag #RedsBookClub.

?

Who wants to read along with me?

The book following What Would Audrey Do? will be The Girl on the Train, by Paula Hawkins.

August Goals

I have some things I'd like to accomplish this month (also my birthday month) and I thought I would share them with you. Here's what I'm thinking for August . . .
  • Load the remainder of my photos onto Shutterfly.
    • I have a ton of photos on my computer. My mom recently used Shutterfly for the first time and asked me to help her build a photo book. You can have folders and albums to keep up on the site for free. I started putting photos up and I am now obsessed! It's fantastic!
  • Read 3 books
    • I am currently reading Scarlet: The Lunar Chronicles as well as Supernova: Heroes of Arcania. I want to finish those two books and read an additional one by the end of August. I'm 6 books behind on my Goodreads challenge and I want to try and make that up.
  • Finish my Bible Study!
    • I started a Bible Study back in March and I'm sooo close to being finished.
    • I have another one that I was supposed to begin with an online community in June. If I can get the first one done, then I can start the new one.
  • Lose 4 pounds
    • That's one pound a week. I can do that!  My current weight is 167.6 - I'll weigh on September 1st
Wish me luck!  Do you have any goals for the month of August?
