The Golden Globes cover both movies and television. Today I'm going share who is nominated in the motion picture categories and who I want think is going to win. I haven't seen all of the movies yet, but hopefully I will be able to by the Oscars. Okay, so here we go!

BEST MOTION PICTURE - DRAMA
I'm going with All Things Leo this year. Plus The Reverant is amazing. I just know it! I read an article about the shooting of the movie and everything the cast and crew went through absolutely deserves an award.
Carol
Mad Max - Fury Road
The Revenant
Room
Spotlight

BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTRESS IN A MOTION PICTURE - DRAMA
Saoirse is terrific and super talented. I haven't seen any of these, though, so I'm guessing.
Cate Blanchett - Carol
Brie Larson - Room
Rooney Mara - Carol
Saoirse Ronan - Brooklyn
Alicia Vikander - The Danish Girl

BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTOR IN A MOTION PICTURE - DRAMA
LEONARDO DICAPRIO!!!!!!!!!!!! It's his year, I just know it!
Bryan Cranston - Trumbo
Leonardo DiCaprio - The Revenant
Michael Fassbender - Steve Jobs
Eddie Redmayne - The Danish Girl
Will Smith - Concussion

BEST MOTION PICTURE - MUSICAL OR COMEDY
I was torn on this one as I've seen three of the five. I decided to go with The Martian, but would be happy to see Trainwreck win as well.
The Big Short
Joy
The Martian
Spy
Trainwreck

BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTRESS IN A MOTION PICTURE - MUSICAL/COMEDY
I just watched Trainwreck and absolutely loved it! I am officially an Amy Schumer fan. She was fantastic in it! Great writing too.
Jennifer Lawrence - Joy
Melissa McCarthy - Spy
Amy Schumer - Trainwreck
Maggie Smith - The Lady in the Van
Lily Tomlin - Grandma

BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTOR IN A MOTION PICTURE - MUSICAL/COMEDY
I saw The Big Short and The Martian, so this was tough. I'm going with The Martian though because I thought Matt Damon was brilliant in it.
Christian Bale - The Big Short
Steve Carell - The Big Short
Matt Damon - The Martian
Al Pacino - Danny Collins
Mark Ruffalo - Infinitely Polar Bear

BEST MOTION PICTURE ANIMATED
I saw Inside Out and it was absolutely amazing!

The Peanuts Movie
Shaun the Sheep Movie

BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTRESS IN A SUPPORTING ROLE IN ANY MOTION PICTURE
I haven't seen any of these, but I'm going with Kate Winslet.  Did you know that she landed this role by sending the director a selfie wearing no makeup? Love it!
Jane Fonda - Youth
Jennifer Jason Leigh - The Hateful Eight
Helen Mirren - Trumbo
Alicia Vikander - Ex Machina
Kate Winslet - Steve Jobs

BEST PERFORMANCE BY AN ACTOR IN A SUPPORTING ROLE IN ANY MOTION PICTURE
I haven't seen any of these movies, so I'm just guessing on this one.
Paul Dano - Love & Mercy
Idris Elba - Beasts of No Nation
Mark Rylance - Bridge of Spies
Michael Shannon - 99 Homes
Sylvester Stallone - Creed

BEST DIRECTOR - MOTION PICTURE
I've seen three of the five and have to go with Alejandro G. Inarritu for The Revenant.
Todd Haynes - Carol
Alejandro G. Inarritu - The Revenant
Tom McCarthy - Spotlight
George Miller - Mad Max: Fury Road
Ridley Scott - The Martian

BEST SCREENPLAY - MOTION PICTURE
I only saw one of the five. The writing in The Big Short was great. I know nothing about stocks and bonds and mortgages and they made it really easy for me to understand. They didn't 'dumb it down' or anything like that. The writing was really smart.
Emma Donoghue - Room
Tom McCarthy & Josh Singer - Spotlight
Charles Randolph & Adam McKay - The Big Short
Aaron Sorkin - Steve Jobs
Quentin Tarantino - The Hateful Eight

Out of the Motion Picture nominees which movies have you seen? Who do you think is going to win?

Tomorrow I'll come back with the television portion of the nominations.
