Friday Feelings V.3

Happy Friday everyone. Did you have a good week? Are you ready for the weekend? I know I am! Link up with me for Friday Feelings (waaaaaaaaay at the's a long one today) and write about anything! That's what Friday Feelings is ya feelin'? :)

Looking to the Stars

Thank you for joining me for Friday Feelings today. I'm combining my Friday Feelings post with my 31 Day Blogging Challenge with prompt #24 My Zodiac Sign & Do I Think It Fits Me?  I think it fits the whole "how I'm feeling lately" idea.  If you're anything like me, then you read your horoscope pretty regularly. It's usually pretty relevant and sometimes even spot on! Here's my horoscope for today:

Your financial situation could get a strong boost today, Virgo. This might be due to a contract you've just signed, perhaps involving some work you will do on your own rather than for an employer. The project may have strong personal significance. The creative arts could be involved, as well as technology. Be prepared for a busy month, but it will be a great one. Go for the gold!

I'm hoping that it is talking about getting my W-2 in the mail from my previous employer. I'm really eager to get my taxes done so I can get that money and pay some stuff off! I looked up what being a Virgo means and it's amazing what I found. Check it out! It's so crazy how much I am like the below, pretty much everything!

Virgo Astrology August 23- September 22

Virgo Strength Keywords

Virgo Weakness Keywords

Virgo and Independence
Virgo is a very independent zodiac sign. They are fully able to put their intelligence to use and get things done for themselves. It is possible however that their narrow mindedness causes their creativity to suffer and they may lead regular routine lives. They may dwell too much on the past and over complicate things and this may limit their ability to move forward and confuse themselves.

Virgo and Friendship I'm a good friend. I love my family and friends so much!
People look up to Virgo for friends. They are truthful, loyal and determined. A person who is able to read deep into another person will notice when Virgo is not well but if they confront them about it, they would rather retreat then talk about it. It is best to keep your emotional distance from a Virgo friend unless they open up to you first.  Be patient with your Virgo friend and understand that their recommendations are only to make your life better.

Virgo and Business - maybe I should have been a private detective!
Virgos are very intelligent, they have an excellent memory and a highly analytical mind. This makes them good investigators and researchers. They also have the ability to probe into a person's emotions and they can often see into people and detect what their motives are. This makes them great policemen or interrogators. Virgos are very good at problem solving, this is what they do best. They are confronted with a problem, they will pick apart the pieces and put it together in the proper order. They are rational thinkers and are good at settling other people's disputes and putting them on the right track for reconciliation. Any position that requires the above features, which is a very long list, is perfect for the Virgo. They keep the world in order.

Virgo Temperament - say no to Negativity and always be positive!
Before a Virgo plunges into anything, from a problem to a vacation idea, they need to analyze all the facts and know all the details before they plunge in and make a decision. Virgo's perception is their reality, more so then other astrology signs. What they believe is what will be, if they have a negative outlook on life, things will present themselves to be negative and they will be very moody and isolated/detached. If they are positive, the same events that occur will be held in a positive light and they will be a pleasant, well-adjusted person. A Virgo mind is a very powerful mind and they must have the proper attitude for their life to be happy and successful. Virgo needs to get in touch with their feelings, this is why they usually seem cold or detached. They are very prone of living in denial. They will say they feel okay or everything is alright even when it's not. This is an easy way out, the one thing that Virgo does not like to analyze is their feelings so pretending everything is okay is a good defense mechanism for not having to take a closer look at their feelings. Virgo has an unpredictable and sometimes unstable temperament.

Virgo Deep Inside - I do tend to over-analyze at times!
They need to be organized in their mind, sometimes all their energy is taken from organizing their mind that they have a difficult time organizing their surroundings. They easily look too deep into an issue and over analyze what they perceive. Virgo is ambitious and strives to always know more and have more. This is in their eternal quest to bring order to chaos. Even if order is obtained from an outsiders' point of view, Virgo will not be settled for they have a very active mind that is always thinking and can never be silenced. Virgos want to be of use, they need to be important and essential to everyone in their lives and in everything they do. Virgo's major life lesson is to learn to trust in and have faith in the unknown. They have to understand that things in life happen for a reason that is not always known to them, they do not have to always know everything. They need to learn to calm down and not over-analyze a situation or event. Deep inside, Virgo is very sensitive and they need to be appreciated for all the things they do.

Virgo in a Nutshell - pure and honest!
Virgo exists in the mind, everything is inside. To the world, Virgo presents a calm and collected exterior but on the inside, nervous uncontrolled intensity in the mind, trying to figure things out, how to improve everything, analyzing and thinking. Virgo can tire itself out without even moving! Virgo has a constant drive to improve and perfect, this can lead to extreme pickiness and finickiest. They are pure, their motives are honest never malicious and they want to accomplish something.

Virgo Love, Sex and Relationships
What it's like to date a Virgo Woman
A Virgo woman is earthly and she may seem cold and detached, but underneath the timid, reserved surface lies the real woman, a strong, passionate woman with a great capacity for strong devoted love. She will play hard to get, she is hard to get for she is worried about exposing her emotional vulnerabilities and getting hurt. She requires patience and you will have to court her and work hard to impress her. Once she is in love, it is for the long term. She will be devoted, loyal and make you very happy and even put a little order in your life. Virgo woman is conservative and old fashioned, a typical woman who is perfect for the man who loves a challenge and likes to take a relationship slow.

Social Media & Negativity

I will get back to my 31 Day Blogging Challenge tomorrow, I promise. Just one more (for now) off the cuff post about something I've been thinking about lately.
Oh the joys of social media. Don't you just love it? Could you see your self without it? We've been 'online' for so long that I forget what it's like to not have Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc. I remember when Facebook was for college students only and was then called The Facebook. My friend Amanda had to send me the link because I kept typing it in wrong. I didn't like this Facebook thing and deleted it, swearing to only use AIM for the rest of my life.  Oh, AIM and our Away Messages :)

Social media has taken over the world in a big way. Everything has a hashtag (#) and some sort of online presence. As a blogger I'm dependent upon social media to get my posts out there in hopes that people will like what they read and follow me. I use it every day all throughout the day. I've connected with some awesome people on Facebook and Instagram that I've met through the blog-o-sphere. I've also reconnected with some people that I lost touch with over the years.

What I've been thinking about lately is perception. The perception we all receive on social media from other people and sometimes even ourselves. I've heard people say that they'll look at so-and-so's Facebook page and see how perfect and fabulous their lives are and then they'll compare it to their own lives. They then get sad and depressed.  I was in a workshop this past weekend and the speaker started talking about this young woman, 36 and single, who committed suicide. Everyone was completely taken by surprise. Over 1,000 people showed up to her funeral.  Why did she do it, you ask? She was comparing her life to what she thought other people's lives were from what she saw online. She was unhappy at her age and unhappy that she was still single and without a partner in her life. Instead of reaching out to friends and family she hid how she was truly feeling and basically gave up.

People are going to always post the happy moments. Who is really going to post about the tears and the hardships?  All it takes is 1 negative thought to take you down. One will lead to another which will then lead you to another. My dear friend Kate who blogs over at A Thought and a Half recently wrote a post called Say 'No' to Negativity, Be Positive Every Day.  She's absolutely right. I'm tired of so much negativity. Not that anyone in particular is posting negative stuff, but it's negative thoughts that stem from...whatever!

Every once in a while I'll go through my Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter accounts and do a "house cleaning." This isn't to offend anyone or upset anyone to give anyone the impression that I dislike them. I've decided to do another house cleaning. The way I'm going to determine who I keep and who goes is whether or not I associate them with negativity. It probably won't be much of a 'clean up.' I already try to keep negative people away. I just feel like it's time. I don't want to go any further into the New Year with any sort of negativity hanging over my head. I just don't have time for it!  There are too many Good people and too many Good things out there to let Negativity win.

Don't let Negativity Win!
Be Positive & Grateful Every Single Day

I would be very interested to hear your thoughts on this topic, so please share in the comments below!

My Cast for Fifty Shades of Grey

I have clearly gone off of the 31 Day Blogging Challenge, but the idea for this post struck me and I couldn't wait any longer to share it!

The following blog post has several pictures of VERY attractive people!

If you are a female between the ages of 18-55...then I'm sure you've read the 50 Shades of Grey Trilogy. You are most likely preparing for the first movie to come out on Valentine's day. By now you are also aware that Dakota Johnson (daughter of the famed Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson) has been cast as Anastasia Steele and Jamie Dornan as the ever elusive Christian Grey. How do you feel about that? Do you like the way it's been cast? What about some of the other characters from E.L. James best selling series?

I'm not so sure I would have made the same casting choices. I know that there are A LOT of women out that that really wanted Charlie Hunnam to be cast as Christian Grey. You know what? He actually was their first choice. He accepted the role and everything. After putting more thought into it and considering his already busy schedule with Sons of Anarchy, he called production and backed out of the role.

Here's who I cast, and why, in my movie version of
Fifty Shades of Grey

I was rooting for Ian Somerhalder to get cast as Christian Grey. I love him! Especially as Damon on Vampire Diaries. Yummy! Ian has those dreamy eyes that I could just get lost in. His smile melts me! I think he would have been perfect.

If I were to cast Ian as my Christian Grey, who would match up well for Anastasia? For me it was a toss up between Felicity Jones and Tatiana Maslany. In the end I had to go with Tatiana. She's amazing! She is a phenomenal actress and would nail the role. I mean, look at her, she's gorgeous!

Now for Anastasia's best friend, Kate Kavanagh. I had a few ideas for her. Dianna Agron from Glee would be good, but so would Julianne Hough (she's so cute). I decided to cast Ian's Vampire Diaries costar Candice Accola as Kate Kavanagh. I think she is fantastic and would be great. Now I just have to decide on a bad boy to pair her with.

Bad Boys! Love them :) This bad boy, Elliot Grey, Christian's brother, needs to be super hot for Kate. There are soooo many options, but after all the 'research' of looking at hot dudes, I picked Kit Harrington. You may recognize this hottie from Games of Thrones as John Snow. Love him!

The last "main character" to cast is Anastasia's friend Jose. I've seen online where people think Taylor Lautner should have been cast or would have at least been good in this role. I'm not a big Taylor fan. I saw his one movie, Abduction, and he's not a very good actor.  I decided to cast Yani Gellman. If you watch Pretty Little Liars, then you'll remember his as Officer Garrett Reynolds. He was also in the Lizzie McGuire Movie as Paolo :)

Do you like how I cast the movie? Who would you have cast differently?

My Guilty Pleasures

~  #5 of the 31 Day Blogging Challenge ~
Guilty Pleasures
We all have guilty pleasures. There are those things that perk us up when we're feeling down. Those things that we take joy in that no one else really understands. I'm here today to share some of my guilty pleasures with you.  I have a tab for my guilty pleasures too. I might want to update that :)

Food & Beverage
There are some edible items that I love more than others! You all know how much I love pizza and diet coke. Did you also know how much I love meatloaf? My mom makes the best meatloaf ever! It's soooo good! Also, chocolate chip cookies. A really good chocolate chip cookie can really put a smile in my face.
There are a couple movies in particular that I watch when I want to see a 'feel good' film. Wild Hogs, You've Got Mail, and any Sandra Bullock movie. Oh and one of my all time favorite guilty pleasure movies is She's All That. I could watch that movie a million times and never get sick of it! I fall more in love with Freddie Prinze Jr every time!

I love my pop music. When I was in 9th grade I was a huge Hanson fan. I was one of the few that were okay revealing that information. I remember one time one time on the bus ride home from school I was talking to this girl about Hanson. Someone over heard us and she pretended like she didn't know what were were talking about. I met a girl in LA when I lived there that was a carefree Hanson fan! She is fabulous and I am so thankful. She brought me out of my Hanson hiding place She even took with me her to see them on Jimmy Kimmel.

Happiness in General
Winnie the Pooh makes me happy and pretty much all things Disney put a smile on my face.

Childhood Memories

A lot of my earliest memories are from when my family lived in Naperville, IL.  My brother fell off (I did not push him) the swing set and had to get stitches. My mom threw my dad a 30th birthday party... don't ask!  We had a red house and our neighbor had a swimming pool that we swam in during the summers. That was fun! Some of my memories also include when my brother and I attended preschool at Hobson. The picture above is the front entrance to Hobson. Isn't it cute!

I loved that school. I remember the big open play room and the cubbies where we kept our jackets and bags. I also remember a boy named Christopher. I caught him talking to another girl in the cubbies and broke up with him. Haha! Oh when we were young. The most vivid memory I have of Hobson involves little yellow insects that have black stripes and a big ol' stinger!

We were at the school on an off day, because my mom was attending a meeting. I don't remember if it was a PTA meeting or if she was a volunteer or something. My brother and I were playing on the play ground and we saw this 'ball.' I think my brother and I remember this part differently, but I remember thinking it was a basketball (or soccer ball) and he kicked it! Out fly all of these bees. Lots and lots of bees!  We were freaking out and screaming. My mom came rushing out. When we got home Jacob and I were stripped down and put into the tub. We had welts all over us. I hate bees.

I will never forget that! It was crazy scary. Today when I see a bee in the house or even in the yard I run the other direction like it's a giant swarm. Just one little bee is all it takes!

What are some of your earliest childhood memories?

Well, Bobby (my trainer) is kicking my a**! Yesterday was our 3rd session. I did arms on my own on Tuesday, so yesterday he did legs with me. Yeah, I'm sore. I can barely move my right are. I  know my legs are hurting!

My Daily Rituals

~  #3 of the 31 Day Blogging Challenge ~
Daily Rituals

I like Urban Dictionary. Their definitions for things are very interesting and sometimes just inappropriate. I looked up the work ritual and it was the third definition made sense, at least to what today's post is about - an action repeated on schedule.  Rituals...let's see :)

My first ritual of the day is actually hitting snooze on my alarm clock at least three times. I have 5 different set alarms on my phone, because sometimes it's so hard to wake up in the morning! Once I finally do rise and shine I do the usual and go to the bathroom :) Doesn't everyone do that first? Lately I've been washing my hair at night, so that I don't have as much to do in the morning. So, when I get up in the morning I straighten my hair, put my makeup on and get dressed. In that order. Then I'll head down stairs to eat breakfast. That is my morning!

I'm trying to make the gym after work a daily ritual now; at least 5 days a week. My trainer has got me super motivated and I'm really dedicating myself to getting my weight to where my doctor wants it. I saw him (doctor) on Monday for a regular check up and the first thing he said to me was, "we didn't hit our weight loss goal did we?" With a big smile on his face! It's a good thing he's a nice guy.

After work and the gym I'll go home, shower, put on my pj's and join my family for tv and dinner. I'll work on my blog and try to catch up on emails. Before I go to sleep I write in my journal and read a little bit.

What are some of your daily rituals?

I now have a button (i can make buttons!!!!!!!) if you're joining me in some of the prompts. Grab it from below!

Do I Have Regrets?

~  #28 of the 31 Day Blogging Challenge ~
Do I Have Regret?

It's Write or Die Wednesday with Mia and Shelly! It's also day three of my 31 Day Blogging Challenge. Today I'm skipping around to prompt #28 (Do I have regret?), because it coincides with today's #WODW prompt ~

Do I have any regrets? No, I don't. Would there be things I might do differently, if I could do it all over again, sure. Who wouldn't? But then again, would I be where I'm at today if I did?

Scenario 1: I graduated from high school a year early, when I was 16 years old. What if I hadn't? What if I had stayed for that fourth year of high school? Would I have still gone to George Mason University or would I have maybe gotten into UVA or even Yale School of Drama? I would have had a completely different college experience and who knows where I'd be now.

Scenario 2: I graduated early and went to George Mason and joined a sorority. What if I hadn't joined Gamma Phi Beta? There are things that happen within a sorority that one cannot speak of :) My last year at GMU and in the sorority were really challenging. There are things occurred on my part that I do, at times, regret. But then I think, "would I be where I am now if I hadn't made the choices I did?" I don't know. I found out who my truly honest friends are because of that last year. It's amazing how people will choose sides without hearing your side of things. It's amazing how you find out how fake and two-faced people are when they are faced with certain things.

Scenario 3: After living in Los Angeles for five years I moved back to the east coast to be closer to my family and to be happier with my life. I was very depressed toward the end of my time in LA. I was trying to find anything, any kind of job, to get my out of there. What if I hadn't left? What if I had stayed another year or two or three?  Would I have finally found an agent that was awesome and perfect and got me into audition rooms?  Would I have 'made it' big? Would I have landed that role that made me a star? I don't know.
I am actually really happy with where I am now in my life. I have a great relationship with my parents and my brother. I have a job that I'm really really enjoying and people that I enjoy working with. So, do I have regrets for ending up a happy 31 year old woman?

No. Not.One.Bit!

Do you have any regrets?

20 Things You Didn't Know About Me

~  #2 of the 31 Day Blogging Challenge ~
20 Facts About Me

1.   I have no idea what my natural hair color is. I was born red, then it got brown, and now I've been so many colors I'm not sure. I see white when it starts to grow out and that freaks me out, so I'll never not color my hair again.
2.   My left foot is slightly longer than my right foot.
3.   I hate pickles.
4.   I wish I had a British accent.
5.   I am easily distracted by independent films, especially those featuring Daniel Radcliffe.
6.   I don't wear horizontal stripes, EVER.
7.   I LOVE having dance parties. That's me with my headphones on listening to my music at full blast rocking out by myself.
8.   I have two'll never guess which ones!
9.   I'm afraid of the dark.
10. I'm totally OCD when it comes to being organized. I'm moving out of my parents house a month earlier, because I feel so unorganized!
11. I'm obsessed with budgeting.
12. I love excel spreadsheets, but I don't know how to use the formulas.
13. I cry for no reason what-so-ever sometimes.
14. I was born left handed. When I was 5 years old I broke my left wrist and had to learn to do everything with my right hand. Now, I can't do jack-crap with my left hand.
15. I've recently become obsessed with Bath & Body Works body lotion. The small 3oz bottles - I have to have them in my purse, at work, at home, etc. Especially Sea Island it!
16. I'm horrible with plants. They die when I have them. I killed my poinsettia, because I didn't water it.
17. I'm deathly afraid of spiders and snakes. Any bugs, really. Remember the remake of King Kong back in 2005? There's a scene (I have it for you below) where giant bugs attack. I had to leave the movie theater, because the giant cockroaches freaked me out so bad. Ick!

18. I'm addicted to blogging :) I love it. I really don't know what my life would be like w/o out it!
19. I have a serious problem when it comes to buying day planners. I have bought a total of 4 planners already for 2015. I think I've found the one(s) for me. I have one for my personal life and one for my blogging life. Not to mention that I have a wall calendar and a desk calendar in my office at work.
20. I sleep with my cell phone :)

That's it for me. I've definitely over shared enough for one day! What are some things about you that not everyone knows?
