Queen For A Day

Sorry for the tease on Friday about the concert. I wanted to dedicate an entire post to the AMAZING show.  This was my first time going to a show at Merriweather Post Pavilion.  It's like a little village.  There are several bars, food stations and of course two giant t-shirt stands.  There was an ice cream truck (sooo good!). Oh and a tree in a truck!

Two hot mommas! My momma on the left and Suechini on the right.

Suechini, my momma, Lil Suechini, me.

There really aren't enough words to describe it. Here are pictures for you to Enjoy! FYI - most of these will be of Adam Lambert, because he's awesome and he's why I was there! :-)

AMAZING CROWD!!!!!!!!!!

Mom took these on her camera. Some good screen shots :)

I hope you enjoyed the show!

Like a Tourist: Perry's Drag Brunch

I am just crossing things off of my bucket list more and more! A couple of weekends ago my mom was in town for the Queen concert. To go with our "Queen" theme I thought we would go to Perry's Drag Queen Brunch before the concert.  This was an experience! I didn't know what to expect at all.  The brunch is $24.95 per person which includes the brunch buffet and a show. What kind of show?

Well, I'll let the pictures speak for themselves ~ Beware...there are boobs!!!!!!!!!!

~ First up what Whitney Goochi Goo (spelling...not so sure) ~

They 'ladies' really liked putting people's faces in their boobs and well as people grabbing them. This guy in the pink/navy stripes got it from all of the 'ladies.'

My mom loved that Whitney had a hello kitty buckle!

I don't remember the other 'ladies' names, because Whitney GG was my favorite, but here are some of the other performers ~
She just wanted everyone's money!

She was the "headliner" I guess you could say. She was definitely the oldest and she let us know that! I can't even repeat some of the things she was saying...obscene!

She was a crazy dancer! Very into the songs she was lip-singing to and all about the 'cha-cha!' She also sort of looked like a drag version of John Leguizamo

Once again, here is Whitney Goochi Goo!
Over the sound system they started to play Let It Go from the Disney movie Frozen.
She looks so pretty!

Then, all of a sudden . . .

She dropped the blue robe!!!!!!
Boobs were suddenly everywhere! You can see my mom (here on the right) taking a picture.

Here's the best part.  My mom got out a five dollar bill and waived it over my head and this is what happen!

I was not expecting this at all! hahahahahaha!

Like I said, it was an experience and one I'll never forget. It was a lot of fun to be there with my mom and some of our friends.  To be honest, I'm not sure if I would go back. It was a little bit more of a strip show than I thought it would be. I guess I thought it would be more of a cabaret type show. Ya know, like what Chandler's dad in Friends does.

Wish I Was Here

Over the weekend I went to see Wish I Was Here. I'm still not sure what the title means, but I do know that I really enjoyed this movie. Zach Braff plays Aidan Bloom, a 35 year old man who finds himself at a crossroads in his life. He is forced to examine his family, life, and career.  Braff's character is an unemployed actor still looking for his big break.  Kate Hudson stars along side Braff as his wife, Sara, who is the bread winner while her husband pursues his dream. Meanwhile, the Blooms have found out that Grandpa's cancer is back and that he doesn't have much time left.  I know what you're thinking...depressing! But's it really not.  In a way the movie was very uplifting. Sure you're faced with  life challenges and you learn from them and you get through them with the people around you.

Summer Giveaway

How are you guys doing today? Are you hanging in there? It's almost FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!  Today I want to take a moment to introduce Jenni. She has recently opened up her own shop on Etsy selling earrings and hair bows.  Her shop is called The Beautiful Fools and she also has a fabulous blog by almost the same name ~ The Beautiful Little Fools. I'm going to let Jenni say hi to you and then we'll give something away!

First of all, thank you so much to Erica for being amazing and collaborating with me on this giveaway! I'm Jenni, but I also sometimes go by Jennis because of a late night mistake one of my friends made with my name and it stuck.

I'm currently working in the hosiery department at Nordstrom for the summer, but during the school year I attend university in California. At school I am studying business and cinematic arts, and while it has nothing to do with my major I dream of starting my own business one day. In my free time, which I don't happen to have as often as I would like, I love to read and go to movies with my friends. I also really enjoy watching trashy reality shows with my friends and our personal favorite is who the bleep did I marry (if you have never seen it you must first enter this giveaway and then stop whatever else you are doing and Netflix it).

Back on topic, I opened my shop, The Beautiful Fools, last month because I love to craft and also because I thought it would be a great way to start on the path to my dream of owning my own shop. The name of it was inspired by my blog, The Beautiful Little Fools, which was inspired by The Great Gatsby. I first read the book in freshman English class and instantly fell in love with it along with Fitzgerald. There was a quote by Daisy that really stood out to me; "I hope she'll be a fool--that's the best thing a girl can be in this world, a beautiful little fool... You see, I think everything's terrible anyhow... And I know. I've been everywhere and seen everything and done everything." There's something about this quote that has an honest truth to it. I by no means think girls should be fools, but sometimes it's freeing to be a beautiful little fool for a moment.

Thanks Jenni!

Now it's your turn to check out The Beautiful Fools on Etsy and The Beautiful Little Fools blog.  There are a few ways to enter, so check it out below. You get to choose one item from Jenni's shop if you win! Good luck!

WIWW - Polka Dot Jacket

I am totally obsessed with my new navy blue polka-do suit jacket. I found it at The Limited on the sale rack. Boy, did I pick the right day to go shopping.  I grabbed this baby for only $34!  I had also stopped by Nine West and everything is on sale. That particular store is closing it's doors, because Pentagon City is raising it's rent. I snagged some great sandals! Check it out!
