June Body Challenge

It's June 1st (that's when I'm writing this) and it's time for some changes.  You all know how I feel about the start to a new month - a fresh shtart, so here we go! I may have briefly mentioned that I had a general check up with my doctor while I was home in Roanoke.  He said that I was a little overweight and that he would feel better if I was down around 140 lbs.  I've been blogging for a year and a half now and I have written countless posts about my journey to a healthy and fit lifestyle.  Now that my doctor has said something it's probably time to get my butt in gear.  Low and behold I came across these while I was cleaning out my closet ~

The Skinny Jeans

You know, that pair of jeans you hold on to in hopes that they'll fit again one day.  I don't really remember the last time I wore them, but it was definitely when I was still living in Los Angeles.  There's paint on them from when I painted the last apartment I lived in.  When I left Los Angeles and moved back to Virginia I was 130 pounds. That might not be where my body is meant to be anymore and it may be that these jeans never fit again at all, but I need to really start taking better care of myself.  Oh, I tried the jeans on...beware they don't fit...hahaha!

I have some work to do. As a lovely reminder of my goal I have hung up my skinny jeans in my bathroom.

So, how am I going to get my butt in gear?  Healthy eating and exercise of course! That sounds good!  I need to get back to the gym, but my toe injury will keep me from that this week, so I'll have to be super careful with what I eat this week. I have a little notebook and will be writing everything down. I read an article that said people who not only write down what they eat, but how the food was prepared, tend to lose more. It makes you more aware of how you're eating your food.  My doctor suggested the phone app My Fitness Pal. I downloaded it on my phone and I'm allowed to eat 1280 calories a day. Not too bad, really.

Let's just say I tripped over my own two feet.  The real story is somewhat embarrassing :)
I've also started a 30 day money freeze (more to come on that this week), so that will help with buy snacks at 7-11, Whole Foods, or CVS during work days/hours.  I won't be stopping at the store on the way home to grab a frozen pizza.  I have what's in my kitchen and that's it! I have tons of great food. I'm just lazy is all.  Over the weekend I was reading some of my magazines. Miranda Lambert is on the current cover of Women's Health and something she said struck a cord with me ~ I miss Cheetos. All right, it's been fun - thanks, Cheetos, we've had some good times. We're going to break up now. I love that and I love her!

I'll keep you guys updated as I go along.  I'll keep track of what I'm eating and how I'm working out.  I'll weigh in once a week.  I'll starting making it one of my h54f's.  Here we goooooooooooooooo!

Linking up with Lipgloss and Crayons for Funday Monday.
