It's Friday...Finally!

I love these guys!  I remember playing Super Mario on my Super Nintendo and Mario Cart.  Oh, the good ol' days!  How has everyone's week been?  Who got hit with snow again?  I sure did, but I'll get to that later!

Before the snow arrived, I actually had a really fun weekend.  On Sunday my friend Erin and I went to this AMAZING store called Hobby Lobby.  She's from Texas and has Hobby Lobbies all over the place.  We had to drive all the way to Laurel, MD (not close) to get to this awesome store.  Did I tell you I am a scrapbooker?  Well, this place is a scrapbooker's dream store.  There are aisles devoted to just paper.  All kinds of colorful paper and paper with glitter and designs.  Bestie ~ When it comes time for Baby K's scrapbook, this is where we're going!
Hobby Lobby also had fun home decor.  Erin shares my love for diet coke :)

After our day of mani's and craft shopping we felt the need to nourish ourselves with Italian food.  We managed to find our way back to Virginia and hit up Clarendon.  We went to Faccia Luna.  If you haven't been there, then you must try it.  It is so yummy.  They really do have some of the best pizza I've had. Oh, and their Bruschetta is so fresh.

I woke up Wednesday to beautiful white everywhere.  Yes, that's right, we got more snow!  It was light fluffy powdery snow.  It really was quite pretty.  However, I'm Over It! I'm so ready for spring!

I drove home this weekend for the Darius Rucker concert that is TOMORROW!
I came home yesterday to see a show that is playing at our local children's theater -
Teen Brain The Musical at the Roanoke Children's Theatre
The show is about situations and issues that teenagers face; social media bullying, drugs and alcohol, peer pressure, texting and driving, etc.
It turns out that the director of the show once directed me in a show waaaaay back in 1998 - The Pied Piper.  Oh the memories!  Doug Z is awesome and he's so talented.  It was great to see him and the show was fantastic!

My mom's boss and good buddy, Suechinni, found me a little present.  My mom gave it to me when I got home yesterday.

I want you to tell me all about the fabulous week you had!
I've got a busy weekend ahead.  What are you plans?
*Happy Friday*

What I Wore ~ An Actual Outfit!!!!!!

Happy Hump Day everyone!  I am so happy to share an actual outfit with you today :)  I did a little damage at Target this weekend, because I felt that I deserved some new clothes! Check it out!

I wear flats A LOT at work.  While at Target I found these cute little ballet flats in coral.  I thought they would be perfect to spice it up and add a pop of color.

I also got the little black pencil skirt (I'm wearing it today too...LOVE IT!).  I really like wearing skirts and dresses to work.  The other black skirt I have is longer and hits right below my knee.  Well, when I wear flats with that skirt I feel frumpy.  This skirt is perfect!  It's casual, yet dressy all at the same time.  It's cotton stretchy and super comfortable.

Both items are at your Target store now and were only $19.99 each!  Great deals :)

What do you guys think of this purse?  The moment I laid eyes on it in the store I fell in love!  It's a hobo bag that is divided into sections inside  and it's RED!  I just ordered it and can't wait to get it! WooHoo!

Shoes, Skirt, and Purse - Target
Shirt - Ann Taylor Loft (clearance)
Shawl - Forever 21 (really old)

2 Movie Reviews

Happy Monday everyone.  Did you have a nice weekend?  I hope so.  The weather was so lovely!  Over the weekend I got a couple movies from Redbox.  I rented Blue Jasmine and The Spectacular Now.

Cate Blanchett is a force to be reckoned with.  I swear, this woman can play any role handed to her.
The movie is about a New York socialite who's husband (played by Alec Baldwin) turns out to be a crook and loses all of their money.  Blanchett moves in with her sister (played by Sally Hawkins) in San Francisco to get back on her feet.  Blanchett plays Jasmine magnificently.  The character is completely down on her luck and a little bit crazy after everything she has gone through.  You see a "yuppy" NYC woman trying to grasp at anything she can to stay on top of the world that she has known for the last 15 years or so.  This movie has a fantastic cast and of course, the fabulous Woody Allen.  Some of Allen's films, for me, are a hit and miss.  Blue Jasmine is fantastic and there is no doubt in my mind that Cate Blanchett will take home the Oscar for Best Actress this Sunday!

I picked up this movie, because I really like Shailene Woodley.  She was in The Descendants with George Clooney and she's starring in Divergent out in March (I'm soooooo excited for Divergent!).  This movie, however, made me really angry!  The synopsis for this movie goes as such ~
This is the story of Sutter Keely - high school senior, effortless charmer, and self-proclaimed "life of the party" - and how he unexpectedly falls in love the the "nice girl" Aimee Fineky.  While Aimee dreams of the future, Sutter lives in the now.  Yet somehow, they're drawn together.  What starts as an unlikely romance becomes a sharp-eyed, straight-up snapshot of the heady confusion and haunting passion of youth - one that doesn't look for tidy truths.
This is straight from movie's website (link above).

What they don't tell you is that Sutter is an 18 year old alcoholic.  He can't function without it.  He is always carrying around a flask and what looks like a Big Gulp cup and putting whiskey in the cup.  He goes to work and school with the flask and Big Gulp in hand.  When Sutter meets Aimee, the "nice girl," she jumps right on board, having never drank before. For Prom, Sutter buys Aimee her very own flask.  How sweet.  At one point in the film, Sutter's boss says that he can keep his job if he "promises not to come to work loaded anymore.  Not even a little bit buzzed."  Sutter is very honest with his boss and says, "I can't promise you that."  SERIOUSLY!  He just lost his job, because he chose alcohol first!
Don't get me started on Aimee.  She becomes a drinker with Sutter, loses her virginity to Sutter, and then she gets hit by a car because of Sutter and she's still in love with him!  WTF! How desperate is this girl!
I think I was yelling at the television screen about how angry I was.  This is a horrible movie.  Don't waste your time.

I should have rented Escape Plan instead!

On that note :) I hope you enjoy your Monday and remember, pick your movies wisely!

What I Wore ~ Fitness Apparel

I'm working on working out again.
I bought an awesome new Sports Bra from Victoria's Secret and it is fantastic!

This is the Standout bra from VS's sports collection.  It is amazing!  I actually have worn it, but I feel much more comfortable putting up the VS models in it than me :)
For a lady of my bust size this bra supplies maximum support.  While in the dressing room I ran in place and nothing moved!  That's a first.  It's not an under wire, but there is a sort of gel under "wire" that helps with the support.  The crisscross design in the back is fantastic and the straps are adjustable.  It has the clip in the back like a regular bra for when you start to lose weight and need to tighten it :)

Getting new work out clothes always makes me so much more motivated to work out.  Here are some awesome items that I found on Pinterest ~

I actually really do like burpees.  I had a trainer in LA that did a "burpee-to-lunge" move that I find very effective and I love it.  I'm definitely sore afterwards!

This is an absolute GOAL of mine!  I weighed yesterday and I'm only 1.2 pounds away from what my highest weight was and I WILL NOT hit that again!

Happy Hour?  I'll meet you at the gym!
This is perfect for me.  Especially since I don't drink anymore.

I will start saying this every day when I'm about to or even just think about eating something I shouldn't!

A big Thank You to Victoria's Secret, because without them I wouldn't be able to support my girls!

I usually just wear black pants/capris to the gym, but I love these feathers!  I'm really fair, so I wouldn't wear white, but these are just so pretty!

These are SUPER CUTE! An easy gray capri with some pops of color.

DIY ~ A Vision Board

Do you remember in 2006 when this woman went on Oprah talking about "The Secret"?  Well, I do!  I was all over it!  Especially the part about making a Vision Board.  Have you ever made one?  I make them all the time and I made one this weekend.

Vision Boards help me to keep thinking about what I want for myself in the future.  They help keep me focused and on track.  This is my first VB for 2014 and before today I haven't been very focused.  Especially since I took my last VB down around December.

If you're interested in making a Vision Board, it's super easy!  All you need are a bunch of magazines or pictures you find online and have printed out.  I'm a regular reader of Glamour, Self, Women's Health, Oprah, and Real Simple (Glamour is my fun magazine!).  Those are magazines that really speak to me about my life.  I go through the magazines and cut out images and phrases that speak out to me.

Once I have a good amount of items I organize them onto a poster board.  You can use any type of board you want.  I tend to stick to white boards so that the colors pop out. Once I have organized everything, then I tape them on.  You can glue them on too, but I don't have any glue :)  I'll also write on it too (usually in crayons or markers).

~ Here's what I did with my newest board ~

Happiness is not a matter of intensity but of balance and order and rhythm and harmony.

You can't stay on balance if you don't keep moving.

Next, and most important perhaps, balance is something that depends entirely upon the individual.

2014 is MY year | I'm Fearless | 126 is my goal weight and I'm gonna hit with every step I take!

There's a lot about balancing my life on this particular board.

You want to make sure to put your Vision Board in a place where you'll see it on a daily basis.  You want to make sure to put I decided to put it on my fridge! I can see it from where I lay in bed :)

Divergent and I'm loving it!

I'm writing this post, but I'm thinking about pulling out all of my screenplay ideas and getting back into writing those.  Sometimes a song will trigger an idea and I've got one replaying over and over again in my head right now.

A Movie For Your Saturday

On Thursday I got to have my first snow day since college.  It was great!  I watched movies all day and some Army Wives while doing a much needed mani/pedi.  My fingers and toes feel so much better! One of the movies I watched on my snow day was Austenland.    This was a movie I wanted to see in the movie theater, but it didn't last very long there.  Yes, Austenland is a total chick flick and yes I totally LOVED it!  I called my mom immediately afterwards and told her that she had to rent it from Redbox.

Austenland is a tale about a young woman, named Jane, that has been unlucky in love.  She's also completely obsessed with Jane Austen EVERYTHING.  You should see her apartment!  She has a life size cut-out of Colin Firth's most famous role as Mark Darcy.  Jane finally decides to make her fantasy come true and buys a ticket to Austenland - a Jane Austen theme park - to find her perfect gentleman.  Austenland is everything Jane thought it would be and even more.  Due to her financial situation, her ticket doesn't allow her to experience all of the luxuries that the wealthier bachelorettes are able to.  Jane makes the best of her "copper package" in Austenland and encounters many surprises along the way.  With Jennifer Coolidge as her comedic side kick Jane turns her vacation into a whirlwind event!

There are hunky guys, British accents, and a ball!  Now, who doesn't like a ball at the end of a romantic comedy.

Austenland didn't get very good reviews, but my review is really all you need to worry about!

Have a great weekend!

*Happy Valentine's Day*

Happy Valentine's Day

Today is a day for love! Love of family, friends, and the whole wide world!
I hope you all have had a wonderful week and are looking forward to the weekend.  Did anyone get stuck in the crazy snow storm?  If you did, then I hope you were able to keep nice and warm.  If you didn't experience the snow...then you're lucky!

Here's a peek at my week...

{one} ~ Penelope finally got her first bath.  Well, the first bath since she's been all mine.  Penelope was super dirty from all the salt on the roads and the bird poop from sitting in my parking lot at home.

{two} ~ I got to see two of my favorite girls on Saturday night.  Marcy, Lindsay, and myself met up in Del Ray and got manis and pedis.  We had a nice time relaxing and chatting and plain ol' catching up.  Afterwards we got some dinner at Del Ray Pizzeria.  Love my girls!

I'm totally hooked on Army Wives right now and my namesake was a guest star in a few episodes.
Love her and she's so pretty :)
Forever Erica Kane!

{four} ~ I joined an awesome group on Facebook called 'Prayerful Bloggers.'  It's a group of wonderful people, mostly women, and we all blog and pray for one another.  Some of us decided to participate in a little Valentine's Day Swap.  We were paired up and sent each other 5 things.  I love what I got!
1. I love notepads!  This is a weekly one and I love it!
2. should see how many stickers I already have, but no Winnie the Pooh.  WooHoo.
3.'s like Kristin knows me sooo well!  These pens are awesome and I'm using them already.
4. Socks...uh...hello! I'm totally wearing these on Friday.
5. DIVERGENT!!! Perfect too, because I just finished The Book Thief and I'm already on page 76.
Kristin from Celebrate the Goodness is the fabulous girl that sent me these awesome goodies.  Go check her out!

{five} ~ My dad came into town for work this week and we met up for dinner Wednesday night.  He brought up with him my Valentine's present from him and mom.  Can you believe it? A pair of ladybug drinking glasses!  They have hearts on them and ladybugs and it says love bug all over them.  Mom also got me a really pretty teal shirt from Target and I can't wait to wear it.  Probably on Saturday when I go out to see Winter's Tale.

How was your week?  Anything fabulous you'd like to share?
