Goals for the New Year

Friday I was perusing through some blogs and I came across My Jolly Little Life.  I love her blog.  She came up with a New Years Blogathon for the month of January that started this past Monday.  Today is day three and I'm jumping in.  Today's topic is "jotting down some goals for the coming year."  I've talked about some things that I'm looking forward to and some general idea about the new year.
Today I'm getting specific!

My Jolly Little Life
(some of this might be redundant...but I'm trying to move on)

1. Become Debt-Free
This will totally happen and I'm super excited about it.  I have a few large payments left on one credit card and it should be paid off by April.  Then I have my TV to pay off and the last "debt" is the money I owe good o'l momma.  My goal is to be paid off by October.  The other thing about becoming debt-free is being smart about my money.  I haven't been smart about it in a while.  Okay...I'm going to stop whining and think positive!  Moving on...

2.  Trading In My Mazda For A New Ride
I started test driving cars this past weekend.  I drove one of the new Mazda 3's, I was disappointed with it.  I also drove a new Ford Fusion SE and I loved it!  It might be a bit out of my price range though.  I have three other cars to drive this weekend and then I'll pick a winner.  I'll keep you posted.

The Ford Fusion Hybrid SE 2014

3.  To Stop Whining About My Weight
I talk about it way too much.  So, I'm going to stop writing detailed posts.  Sure, I'll give you updates every so often.  I love having a blog and telling you all about my life, but I'm going to start keeping a little bit of this to myself.  I'll figure it out and when I do I'll let you know.

4.  More Books & Less Television/Movies
This is going to be a tough one, because I love movies so much.  I always seem to find a television show on Netflix/Hulu to watch.  Right now it's all 8 seasons of Dexter.  I had already seen the first 5 seasons.  I started season 6 on Friday and I'm more than halfway thru season 7. I have a goal to read 20 books this year.  I'm participating in a couple book challenges this year and have some great books I'm looking forward to reading.  I'm 200 pages into The Book Thief and I'm loving it so far.  I'm going to read Divergent next.

What about you?  What are some goals you have this year?

I'm also linking up with Because Shanna Said So for Random Wednesday.
