It's "About Time"

Over the weekend a girlfriend and I went to see the new flick About Time.  The directors that brought you Love Actually and Notting Hill have produced another great romantic comedy.  I'm a huge Rachel McAdams fan, so of course I had to see it.  It's about a young man, Tim, who finds out that the men in his family can travel through time.  They can only go back in time and not forward to the future.  Tim uses this new knowledge to go after his true love, Mary.  Domhnall Gleeson plays Tim.  You may recognize him from the Harry Potter movies as Bill Weasley or Anna Karenina with Keira Knightly.  He's also the son of Brendan Gleeson aka Mad Eye Moody!  Domhnall is totally my new actor crush!  Of course we all know the fabulous Rachel McAdams from The Notebook, Time Traveler's Wife, etc.

About Time is a very sweet romantic comedy that makes you really think about living each day to the fullest. One point to make ~ Tim can only revisit and revise parts of your own life.  As Bill Nighy puts it, "you can't kill Hitler or shag Helen of Troy."  All Tim has to do is go to a dark place, clench his fists, and think about the moment he wants to go to.  Very Narnia-esque if you ask me.  Once Tim is over the initial shock of the time travel abilities, he uses it his "gift" to fix a horrible New Year's Kiss and then he tries to get a summer house guest to give him a chance.  That doesn't work out so well.  He then moves to London to pursue his law career.  On a night out with his friend Jay he meets the marvelous Mary.  There is immediate attraction and chemistry between the two and mutual hopes to see each other again.

However, Tim has a bit of a time travel mishap when trying to help out a friend.  The night he met Mary completely changes and they've never met.  Tim spends much of the next few weeks trying to find her, woo her, and court her.  He finally succeeds after much work and several attempts.  It's true what they say, if a man wants to be with you, he'll find you no matter what!  Ahhh, true love, love at first sight.  I loved this movie.  It's a great date movie and a great movie for couples of all ages.  Check out the trailer below and decide for yourself.  I think you'd be a fool to miss this one! :-)
