Homemade Spaghetti Sauce...Yum-O

Have you ever experienced homemade spaghetti sauce?  If you haven't, then you are majorly missing out!  I'm a simple Prego girl.  At least I was until my mom made me this amazing spaghetti sauce.  It's super easy to make and super super yummy!!!

As you can see, the recipe has been adjusted and loved :)  You can always adjust it to your liking.

Here's the recipe version that I use ~

2 medium onions
(i'm not an onion lover, so I only use 1)
2 cloves garlic, minced
(I don't do this...I know nothing about mincing garlic)
1 pound sirloin
(you can substitue ground turkey if you perfer or if you're a veggie you can use Morningstar Veggie Crumbles)
1/4 cup olive oil
1 6 ounce can tomato paste
4 cups tomato juice
4 teaspoons sugar
4 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/2 cup red wine

Finely chop the onion(s) and brown in a pan with the oil.  If you're using the garlic, then you want to put that in here as well.

While you are browning the onion, you want to combine the tomato juice, tomato paste, sugar, salt, and pepper and bring to a boil.  I use a crock pot handed down to me by my momma.

Once the onions start to brown you want to add 1 pound of sirloin and brown.

Once you've got the meat and onions browned to your liking you want to add it all to the crock pot.  Let is cook for 3 hours on medium.  My crock pot has levels 1-5 and I let it sit on level 3 for the 3 hours.  Once your sauce is ready to go all you have left to do is cook up some pasta and voila!

It is so delicious!  It's great left over and you can freeze it too and it keeps wonderfully!

Have a fabulous hump day!
