Sunday Social ~ Let's Get Reading!

I was checking out one of the blogs that I follow, The Wright Stuff, and she posted a "Sunday Social" about her favorite kinds of books!  I'm a big reader - granted, I buy books faster than I read them and Hulu occupies a lot of my free time - and I thought I would do a little *Sunday Social* myself!

1. My Favorite Childhood Book is...
Molly Donnelly, by Jean Thesman. I read this for the first time when I was in middle school and fell in love with it.  It's about a young girl who lived during World War 2. She meets a soldier on the beach and they fall in love.  I've ready several times and each time love it even more!

2. My Favorite Book Lately is...
The book I am currently reading is Men and Dogs, by Katie Crouch.  I read her other book, Girls in Trucks and really enjoyed it.  This one is about a woman who is still detirmed that her father is alive after disappearing 20 years ago. I'm only on chapter 5, but I like it already.  I really like Katie's writing!

3. A book I wish I could live in would be...
Gosh, this is a tough one!  I've always thought it would be interesting to live back in the renaissance period.  One of my favorite writers, Phillipa Gregory, writes fantastic historical fiction.  She's so vivid and colorful.  I also love Nicholas Sparks' books.  Okay, so I guest if I could live in a book, it would be a Nicholas Sparks book.  Small, southern town...yup! Now for the book...I would say  Safe Haven,  after all the drama (soon to be a movie starring Josh Dumahl and Juliane Hough).

4. If I could be any character from a book, I would be...
This is where I'm going to pick a Phillipa Gregory character.  From her book Meridon, I would chose to bee Meridon.  She is the granddaughter of Beatrice Lacy in the Wideacre Trilogy. When Meridon was born she was given to gypsies to save her life.  She was later sold to a man who ran a "circus" act of acrobats.  After the murder of her Romany (gypsy) sister she runs away to find where she belongs - Wide Acre.

5. My favorite book turned movie is...
P.S. I Love You ~ The book and movie are so different that it made for two very good stories.  The basic concept is there - woman's husband dies and he leaves her letters with instructions on how to move on - but there are enough differences that make them both so good to read/watch.  I love Gerard Buter and Harry Connick Jr.!!!!

6. My favorite magazines are...
Glamour, Real Simple, and Oprah

How can you beat Oprah, I mean really! She's fabulous!

I fell in love so quickly with the magazine.  Such great Organizing ideas!

I love Sandy!!!!

Until next time ~ *erica*
